Caesarean Awareness

Planned Cesarean Section

Regarding ceasarean awareness, I am so glad that there has been a recent push to change the public's perception about elective cesareans. It drives me crazy to hear about women scheduling their deliveries. Don't they know about all the important things both their body and their baby goes thru during labor?

Babies born by C-section are known to have more health issues both immediately and long term. Why would someone do that to their child unless it was an emergency.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful that I have the option to have a c-section if there is a true emergency, but the problem is the procedure is overused causing the USA to have much higher maternal and infant mortality than most other countries.
